The Adobe
Perched on the hills above Santa Barbara and overlooking the city and the sea, this authentic two bedroom & two bath home was built in the mid-1950s by master Adobero Pedro Aguilar. With panoramic views of the mountains and the city and a peek of the harbor, the beauty of Santa Barbara is on full display here.
The old mesquite gates at the entrance of the property welcome your arrival. From there, head through the private courtyard, complete with fountain, citrus trees, heater, and a BBQ—the perfect spot for morning coffee, afternoon naps, or al fresco dinners.
A terrace on the view side of the home—accessed through the living area—offers a stone fire pit and an incredible vantage point of the mountains and city.
About the home
Inside, the open-concept living space exudes adobe charm - with a hooded gas fireplace, beamed ceilings, Saltillo tile floors and a sectional with plenty of soft blankets and pillows for curling up by the fire. French doors lead to the terrace which open wide for indoor/outdoor living.
Sharing this open space is the full kitchen, beautifully appointed with a Viking gas range, dishwasher, and other professional-grade appliances fit for even the most discriminating cook.
This home is all on one level. Two bedrooms include the king-size master with an en-suite bath, and the queen-size second bedroom. The master has its own large, glass-enclosed walk-in shower. A second bath, located near the living area, has an authentic clawfoot tub/shower combo. Both bedrooms have their own flat screen TVs.
Additional amenities include satellite TV (on all three TVs), free internet access, SONOS sound system throughout, central heat and off-street parking.
Rates & Location
Rates vary depending upon time of year and length of stay. We are located in the hills above Santa Barbara, between downtown and the beach, with about a 5 minute drive to either destination. We are about 8 minutes from Montecito and 30 minutes to the Santa Ynez Wine Country.
